Family camping at Rob Hill

Outdoor Classroom kickoff event: Camping at Rob Hill

Friday night 60 campers from our Waldorf community enjoyed a spectacular night under a big moon and light fog at Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio. Our two sites overlooked the Pacific and we roasted sausages on sticks against the sunset backdrop. The children enjoyed playing among the trees long into dark and gathered around the fire for marshmallows and fire gazing. Over 20 people joined us for dinner, and a few Presidio Waldorf families even stopped by for breakfast.

Thanks to Kyle Macdonald for an informative history of the campground. Thank you to Rein Ratsep for wood, Alite Designs for loaning free camping equipment, Cory Powers and Seraph White for pre-trip organization, and Ali and Rick Sant-Johnson for their delicious provisions.
